If you prefer to indulge in a drink every so often, leave your cash at home if you plan to do your drinking in a poker room. I am serious. clean out your handbag, your wallet, and keep all money, bank cards and checks at home. Take just the cash you are planning to spend on alcohol, tipping and whatever loose coins you intend to lose and leave the rest behind.

Pessimistic? Not at all. Practical more like. You might well experience a success after a boozy evening out with your buddies and be lucky enough to hit a marathon roll at a smokin craps table. Hang on to that account because it is as short-lived as it gets if you continually drink and bet. The two just don’t mix.

Keeping your cash at home is a little dramatic, however precautionary actions for dramatic behavior is proportionate and necessary. If you gamble to win, then don’t consume alcohol and bet. If you can afford to throw away your money without a second thought, then consume all the no charge alcohol your stomach can handle, but do not take credit cards and cheques to toss into the mix of going after losses after your inebriated brain loses everything!
