You observe a table with several available seats. Which seat should you occupy? That is a matter of individual preference. Is there a gorgeous guy or girl gambling alone at one end of the craps table? Which players are smoking? Which look careless? Which appear intoxicated or obnoxious? Pick a position where you’ll feel the most at ease.
I like gambling on the end, right beside to the dealer. On the end, I do not need to be concerned about individuals on either side of me. I don’t prefer playing next to the stickman because I constantly seem to be in the way of them trying to get the dice or angling the stick.
After participating for a while, you will get a taste for your favored position. You don’t have a pick when it is packed. If you end up in a lousy location (e.g., an annoying guy is next to you), just move to a further free spot. If the craps table is filled, wait until someone leaves and take their seat. Be aware of a gambler "coloring up," which is an indication that she is departing, and inform the croupier that you want to take over her seat. The dealer will then hold that spot and not allow a different individual to swiftly step in. The croupier will politely ask the new competitor to move to the spot that you leave. Clearly, when you switch locations, do not leave your your chips.
Folks next to you can have an affect on your mood and full wagering experience. They can make it exciting or horrifying. You might get trapped next to a smoking fat guy with horrid body odor, or it may be a group of drunk babes busting out of their halter tops. So, choose your spot wisely.
